East-Central Railway (Hajipur)
Dhanbad falls under the East Central Railway (ECR) zone headquartered at Hajipur. Dhanbad railway division, part of ECR, was established on November 5, 1951. It is the largest railway station in Jharkhand, handling over 100 trains daily. The division covers track kilometers across Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. It leads in coal loading among all Indian railway divisions.
