Chhota Nagpur Plateau
The Chhota Nagpur Plateau covers about 65,000 sq km, mainly in Jharkhand. It has an average elevation of 700m, with the highest peak at Parasnath Hill (1,164m). The plateau consists of Precambrian rocks like granite-gneiss and lies between the Ganges-Son and Mahanadi basins. It is dissected by the Damodar River and rich in minerals such as coal, iron, and bauxite.
