Bahadur Shah II, or Bahadur Shah Zafar, was the last Mughal Emperor. His reign was symbolic, with power held by the British East India Company. After the 1857 Indian Rebellion, he was captured, tried, and exiled to Rangoon. He is known for his Urdu poetry, and his authority was limited to the Red Fort in Delhi.
