Q. Which of the following sports was invented by James Naismith?
Answer: Basket Ball
Notes: Basketball was invented by James Naismith in 1891. Naismith, a Canadian physical education instructor, was tasked with creating an indoor game for students to play during the cold winter months. After nailing two peach baskets at opposite ends of the gymnasium, Naismith devised a set of 13 rules, many of which form the basis for modern basketball. The game spread quickly across college campuses and the YMCA movement, becoming enormously popular within a decade. Today, basketball is one of the most widely played and watched sports globally. In 1936, Naismith entered the inaugural class of the Basketball Hall of Fame in recognition of his foundational contribution to the sport.
