Notes: Rajadhiraja who ruled the Chola empire from 1044 A.D. to 1052 A.D. was one of the greatest and bravest warriors in the Chola dynasty. He died on the battlefield and from the manner of his death, Rajadhiraja came to be known as Yanai-mel-thunjina Devar which means the king who died on the back of an elephant.
