Khizr Khan founded the Sayyid Dynasty in 1414 CE after defeating Daulat Khan. It was the fourth dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate, lasting until 1451, with weak central authority and frequent revolts. Khizr Khan, claiming descent from Prophet Muhammad, ruled as a vassal of Timurid Shahrukh and never took the title of Sultan.
