Q. Which of the following ruler succeeded Alamgir II?
Answer: Shah Alam II
Notes: Shah Alam II was the sixteenth Mughal Emperor and son of Alamgir II. His reign marked the decline of the Mughal Empire, which became largely symbolic. He was blinded by Ghulam Qadir in 1788 and granted the Diwani of Bengal, Bihar, and Orissa to the British East India Company in 1765. He spent much of his reign under Maratha and British protection.
