Q. Which of the following is a martial art of Andhra Pradesh?
Answer: Kathi Samu
Notes: Kathi Samu is one of the ancient martial arts of Andhra Pradesh, performed by the royal army. This respected martial art uses a variety of swords. Kathi Samu's workshop is known as 'Grid'. Today, this form of martial art is practiced only as a pastime in the families of those who once served their king as soldiers. It was established over the next few years in the two main Vizianagaram areas north of the Andhra coast and Karvetinagaram in the southern district of Chittoor. The stick war known as 'Vari' plays an important role in Kothi Samu and is a precursor to the real sword fighting. The fight is between two men wielding long, sharp swords.
