Basohli style, Kangra style, and Jammu style come under the Pahari painting style. Pahari painting (literally meaning painting of the hill region) is a broad term used to refer to Indian painting. It is mostly done in miniature and originated in the Himalayan hill states of northern India during the 17th–19th centuries. Prominent among them were Basohili, Mankot, Nurpur, Chamba, Kangra, Gular, Mandi and Garhwal.] The masters of this art were Nainsukh, who was born in the middle of the 18th century.
