Balaji Bajirao Peshwa (1720 – 1761) was a Peshwa of the Maratha Empire in India. He was also known as Nana Saheb (not Nana Sahib of Bithur, who led rebellion of 1857 from Kanpur). Balaji Bajirao was appointed Peshwa in 1740 after his father Peshwa Bajirao I. It was his tenure when the Chattrapati became a figurehead and Peshwas became prominent.
