Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
The National Steering Committee recently approved new measures to improve loan sanctions and disbursements under the PM Vishwakarma scheme. The scheme is a central sector initiative of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to support artisans and craftspeople following the traditional Guru-Shishya system. It provides market linkages, skill training, and digital transaction incentives to those engaged in 18 identified traditional trades. Eligible beneficiaries aged 18+ receive a PM Vishwakarma ID, training with a ₹500 daily stipend, a ₹15,000 toolkit voucher, and collateral-free loans up to ₹3 lakh at 5% interest. The scheme aims to cover 30 lakh families over five years.
