Tamil Nadu Forest Department launched Hostile Activity Watch Kernel (HAWK), a centralised forest and wildlife crime management system similar to Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) used by police. Tamil Nadu is the third State after Kerala and Karnataka to implement HAWK, developed by Wildlife Trust of India (WTI). Odisha is in the process of adopting the system. HAWK aids in wildlife crime control, forest surveillance, and endangered species protection through real-time data analysis, field reporting, and rapid response.
