Notes: Even though Mercury is closer to the Sun, Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system. The planet’s atmosphere is full of carbon dioxide, and it has clouds of sulfuric acid. The Indian Space Research Organisation has planned to send a spacecraft to orbit Venus by December 2024 to study what lies below its surface. In 2025, the Earth and Venus would be aligned in a way that it requires minimum amount of propellant for spacecraft to enter Venus’s orbit.
