Notes: The Cinema of West Bengal, also known as Tollywood, refers to the Indian Bengali language film industry based in the Tollygunge region of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Established in 1907, Chaplin Cinema is the first cinema hall in India. Founded by Jamshedji Framji Madan, not only was it the first of his chain of cinemas in British India, but also the first permanent movie theatre in Calcutta. Currently Inox has six multiplexes in West Bengal with 22 screens.
