Milad-un-Nabi is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. It is believed that he was born on the 12th day of Rabi-al-Awwal (3rd month). This day is also known as Barah Wafat or Mawlid-un-Nabi. It is also believed that on this day Prophet Muhammad left the earth. Eid Milad-un-Nabi or Mawlid is celebrated by Muslims of Sufi or Barelvi ideology.
It is a part of the national holiday and is celebrated all over the world.
