Notes: Khizr Khan founded the Sayyid dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate in 1414 A.D. He was appointed governor of Multan by Firoz Shah Tughluq and claimed descent from the Prophet Muhammad. After Timur's invasion in 1398, he took control of Delhi. The Sayyid dynasty lasted until 1451, known for restoring order and struggling against regional chieftains and the Lodis.
