Notes: West Champaran has maximum forest cover in Bihar. It lies in the southern part of the state and is prone to drought. The quality of the site of these areas is low, not supporting rich forests. All the forests are maintained for environmental conservation purposes. The current working plans of the forests do not prescribe any commercial exploitation.
