Notes: The US Department of State has launched the Gandhi-King Scholarly Exchange initiative which explores the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. The initiative brings together 20 young civic leaders from India and the United States to advance civil rights and social justice on the local, national and international levels. It includes a programme hosted at Alabama A&M University, Historically Black College and University and the University of Alabama.
