India recently hosted the first Assembly of the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) in New Delhi on 16 June 2025. It is a global initiative launched by the Government of India through the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) in March 2024. It aims to conserve big cats by promoting global cooperation, knowledge exchange, and technical and financial support. The meeting was attended by ministerial delegations from nine countries including Bhutan, Cambodia, Eswatini, Guinea, India, Liberia, Suriname, Somalia, and Kazakhstan.
