Notes: The Government of India Act 1919 had a separate Preamble. It is mentioned in the preamble that the objective of the British Government was the gradual introduction of responsible government in India. Dyarchy at the Provincial Level was introduced through this act and later Dyarchy at centre was introduced through the Government of India Act 1935 by abolishing Dyarchy at Provinces.
