The Fossil Garden is situated in the Mandro block of Sahibganj district, Jharkhand. It contains plant fossils from 68 to 145 million years ago. The Birbal Sahni Institute has studied these fossils. It is recognized as a geoheritage site by the Geological Survey of India. The park was built at a cost of INR 10.79 crore and features Jurassic-era fossils preserved in volcanic ash. Sahibganj hosts Jharkhand’s first fossil park, not Dumka, Giridih, or Hazaribagh.
