Noamundi is in West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand. It is Asia's largest iron ore mine, operated by Tata Steel since 1924. Jharkhand holds 25% of India's total iron ore reserves. Noamundi produces high-quality iron ore with an annual output of approximately 8.25 million tonnes as of 2023. Other mining areas in the district include Gua and Jhikpani, but Noamundi is the largest iron ore field in Asia.
