The Ramgarh Congress session was held in 1940 from March 18 to 20 near the Damodar river in Jharkhand. It was presided over by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Subhas Chandra Bose attended. The session protested Britain’s unilateral declaration of India’s involvement in World War II and demanded complete independence. It was the only Congress session held in the region before India’s independence.
