Notes: Singhbhum district was divided into East Singhbhum and West Singhbhum in 1990 when it was part of Bihar. East Singhbhum consisted of 9 eastern blocks with Jamshedpur as its headquarters. West Singhbhum included 23 western blocks with Chaibasa as its headquarters. This division was made for administrative convenience. In 2001, Saraikela-Kharsawan district was further carved out from East Singhbhum.
