West African CFA Franc is the official currency of eight independent nations namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast/Cote d'Ivoire, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo. CFA stands for Financial Community of Africa. The currency is issued by the Central Bank of the African States, headquartered in Dakar, Senegal, for the members of West African Economic and Monetary Union.
