Seraikela Chhau is a traditional masked dance form from Jharkhand's Seraikela Kharsawan district. It evolved from martial art Parikhanda techniques. Performed mainly by male dancers during spring festivals like Chaitra Parva, it uses clay masks crafted with paper, cotton, and clay. The dance is accompanied by folk instruments like dhol, dhumsa, mohuri, and shehnai. Themes are based on epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharata. It is one of three main Chhau dance styles, alongside Purulia and Mayurbhanj.
