Sendra is an annual mass hunt practiced by Jharkhand tribal communities, especially near Jamshedpur in Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary. It occurs in May and involves hunting deer, peacocks, boars, and birds as offerings to deities like Dalma Guru and Singhbonga. Rituals include fasting, music, and passing herbal knowledge. Also called Bishu Shikar, the event is a traditional practice among tribes in Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal. In 2020, no animals were killed due to the lockdown.
