Notes: The Himalayas is not only famous for its peaks, glaciers and glacial lakes but for its high - level pastures also. These pastures are situated between 3500 to 6000 metre. These soft grass lands are called ‘Buggyal’ in Uttarakhand. These Buggyal are popular for animal grazing and are called “heaven for herders”. These are known as ‘Marg’ in Kashmir and ‘Thach’ in Kullu.
