A privately pooled fund for non-traditional assets
An Alternative Investment Fund is a privately pooled investment vehicle established or registered in India under SEBI (AIF) Regulations, 2012. It collects capital from sophisticated investors for investments in private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge funds, and other non-traditional assets. Minimum investment is Rs. 1 crore per investor. AIFs are not mutual funds and are meant for high net worth individuals and institutions.
