Marie Curie won the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics for research on radioactivity. She coined the term "radioactivity" and isolated the elements polonium and radium. She was awarded the 1911 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for these discoveries. She was the first person to win Nobel Prizes in two scientific fields. Her work established the foundation of radioactivity research.
