President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on 14-year-old cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his outstanding achievements in domestic and Under-19 cricket. The awards recognise excellence in Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art & Culture, and Science & Technology. Vaibhav recently scored 190 off 84 balls in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, becoming the youngest centurion in List A history and breaking AB de Villiers’ fastest 150 record, with 15 sixes, the most by any Indian in 50-over cricket. He scored 108 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy*, becoming the youngest T20 centurion at 14 years 250 days.
