The name ‘elaliite’ marks the fact that the meteorite was unearthed in the district of El Ali in Somalia, and ‘elkinstantonite’ is named after the NASA expert Lindy Elkins-Tanton. A third unidentified mineral, is being analysed by the University of Alberta researchers.
