1336–1672 CE is incorrect; the Vijayanagara Empire was founded in 1336 CE by Harihara I and Bukka Raya I on the Tungabhadra River's south bank, succeeding Hoysala, Kakatiya, and Yadava kingdoms after Delhi Sultanate conquests. It expanded across south India, controlling diverse regions, and declined after the 1565 CE Battle of Talikota, with the last ruler Sriranga III dying in 1672 CE. Hampi served as capital.
