Karam Tammanna Dora
Karam Tammanna Dora, a Koya Muttadar of Bandapalli, led the first Rampa rebellion that lasted from 1839 to 1848. Supported by five other Muttadars, Tamanna Dora assembled an armed group of 30 men and launched numerous attacks against the British. According to historian David Arnold, the deadliest attack by Tamanna Dora took place in 1840, resulting in the death of 12 policemen and injuries to 20 others. For the next eight years, he was hailed as a hero across the Agency tracts until his unexplained disappearance in 1848.
