The Treaty of Salbai was signed on May 17, 1782 between the Maratha Empire and the British East India Company. The treaty ended the First Anglo-Maratha War. The treaty was signed by Warren Hastings and Mahadaji Shinde. The treaty maintained the status quo. The Marathas were restored Gujarat, and the English retained Salsette, Elephanta, and two other small islands in Bombay harbor. Salbai is located in Gwalior District, Madhya Pradesh.
