Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, flagged off the ‘Surya Devbhoomi Challenge 2.0’ in Garhwal, Uttarakhand, organised by the Indian Army. The expedition began from Badrinath Temple and covers 113 km, including the sacred Kedars—Kalpeshwar, Rudranath, and Tungnath. The initiative aims to promote heritage conservation, tourism, and adventure sports in the Himalayan region. It is aligned with the Vibrant Village Programme to boost tourism and employment in border villages.
