Cultural syncretism and religious tolerance
Sulh-i-Kul, meaning “Peace with All,” was an important policy established by Mughal Emperor Akbar aimed at creating religious harmony and tolerance among different communities in his empire. The festival celebrated in Agra represents Akbar’s vision of bringing together people of diverse faiths, especially Hindus and Muslims, under a policy of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
