Ministry of Tourism issued operational guidelines and project report template under Special Assistance to the States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. The Special Assistance to the States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme was launched by the Ministry of Tourism in India, to develop and promote iconic tourist centers at a global scale. State Governments submitted project proposals online, and 40 projects were sanctioned for Rs. 3295.76 crore with 100% central funding. Government of India funds development; State Governments handle operation and maintenance. Projects are expected to boost local economy and create opportunities for local artisans and communities.
