Qattara Depression is an endorheic basin depression located in Egypt, which forms part of the Egyptian Western Desert. The bottom of Qattara Depression covers with salt pans, sand dunes and salt marshes. Salt weathering and wind erosion lead to the formation of depression. It forms the second-lowest point in Africa after Lake Assal of Djibouti.
