Gulf of Guayaquil is a large body of water located in the South American continent between Ecuador and Peru facing the Pacific Ocean. This gulf is an inlet of the Pacific Ocean. Rivers of both Ecuador and Peru such as Guayas River, Jubones River, Zarumilla River and Tumbes River empty into this gulf. A series of geological faults, which are capable to generate dangerous earthquakes, are present in the underlying gulf.
