Annobon Island is part of Equatorial Guinea, a nation on Africa's west coast. Equatorial Guinea is divided into an Insular region, including Annobon and the capital city's home, Bioko Island, and the Mainland “Rio Muni”. The island country Sao Tome and Principe is between Bioko Island and Annobon Island, all located within the Cameroon Line. Equatorial Guinea is uniquely the only African state where Spanish is an official language, and plans are in progress to relocate its capital from Malabo in Bioko to Ciudad de la Paz in Rio Muni.
