Musical instruments
Tamak, Singa, Jhanjh, and Banam are musical instruments used by Jharkhand tribes. Tamak is a drum played during Chhau, Paika, and Natua dances and ceremonies. Banam is a Santhal string instrument with a half coconut shell base and horsehair strings. Singa, made from buffalo horns, is used as a signal during hunting or herding. Jhanjh is a traditional percussion instrument in Jharkhand folklore.
