Noor Jahan, the only Mughal empress to have coins minted with her name, was the twentieth wife of Jahangir. She saved him from rebel Mahabat Khan and wielded significant political influence. An accomplished poet and designer, she introduced rose water and Persian-style gardens in India. She issued royal decrees and held court, a first for a Mughal empress.
