Malla Yuddha is a traditional form of wrestling native to India. It is closely related to the fighting styles of Southeast Asia such as the Naban and is one of the two ancestors of wrestling. The description of Indian wrestling is found in the 13th century Malla Purana. Mal-war includes dislocation, fracture of joints, percussion, bite, strangulation and point of pressure. It was traditionally organized into four types that continued from power struggles to actual battles known as wars. Famous personalities include Siddhartha Gautama, Krishna Deva Raya etc.
