Notes: Santhal Rebellion took place in  1855. The rebellion took place in Eastern India. It was  a revolt against the British East India Company (EIC) and Zamindari System. In this rebellion, Santhal tribe defeated the army led by the British commander Major Buro but the rebellion was eventually suppressed by the Presidency armies. The rebellion was led by the four Murmu Brothers of Santhal tribe: Sidhu, Kanhu, Chand and Bhairav.
