Notes: State Archaeological Gallery Museum is located in Kolkata and was established in 1962. It comprises rare tools of the Early, Middle and the Late Stone Age from Susunia (Bankura) and other sites, proto-historic antiquities from Pandu Rajar Dhibi (Bardhaman), terracottas, sculptures, stone and stucco from the Gupta, Maurya, Sunga, Kushana, Pala and Medieval times. It has also a section on ‘Historical Art’ which displays a large number of old terracottas, bronzes, wood-carvings, textiles and manuscripts.
