Q. In which year maximum number of languages were added to the Eighth Schedule ?
Answer: 2003
Notes: The 92nd Amendment of the Constitution of India, also known as the Constitution (Ninety-second Amendment) Act, 2003, added four languages to the Eighth Schedule. The languages added were Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, and Santali. This brought the total number of languages listed in the schedule to 22. The 71st Amendment, enacted in 1992, added three more languages: Konkani, Meitei (Manipuri), and Nepali. The 92nd Amendment added Bodo, Dogri, Santhali, and Maithali in 2003.  The Eighth Schedule recognizes 22 languages as the official languages of India. 14 of these languages were initially included in the constitution. The rest of the languages were added to the constitution through subsequent amendments.
