Bindusara, who was also known as Amitraghata or Amitrochates was the son of Chandragupta Maurya. He ruled the Mauryan empire from 298 BCE to 273 BCE. He believed to have conquered 16 states of the Indian subcontinent. He died in 273 BCE and was succeeded by his son Ashoka.
