The Animal Welfare Board of India has its headquarters at Ballabhgarh in Faridabad district of Haryana. The Board was originally established in 1962 under Section 4 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. It functions as a statutory body under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India.
