The Osa Peninsula is located in southwestern Costa Rica, facing the Pacific Ocean, which is separated by the Golfo Dulce from the Costa Rican mainland. It houses Osa Wildlife Sanctuary and Corcovado National Park. The peninsula is estimated to house 2.5% of the world's entire biodiversity and for the same reason, National Geographic called it the most biologically intense place on the Earth. It is a sparsely populated region covered with virgin rainforests.
